On March 19, 2022, the Maui High School Class of 2023 will officially have their most awaited event of the year. Junior prom will be held at the Westin Maui Resort and Spa from 9:30 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. It’s theme will be “Enchanted Garden,” and a dress code of formal attire. This means avoiding high slits, low tops, and casual outfits like jeans and slippers. Items such as water bottles, backpacks, and bags will not be necessary at this event. However, if you do wish to bring a small purse, it must be around 5 inches by 7 inches.

Junior Prom registration took place on February 7 to 10 during lunch at the Izumi ‘Shine’ Matsui Athletic Center. Payments for the ticket are cash-only and cost $100. On January 21, obligation sheets were disseminated, and juniors should get rid of any outstanding obligations. Before ticket purchase(s), juniors should complete the following:

  • Email vaccine card to Covid Hotline

    • Guests must bring their ID and vaccination card to the event

    • Or a negative Covid-19 test 48 hours prior to the event

  • All obligations clear

    • Athletic Uniforms - Mike Ban

    • Detentions - Vice Principals

    • Books - Sharyl Seino

    • Financial Obligation - Main Office (Before school, during recess, and lunch)

    • Chromebooks/Hotspots - Main Office

Class of 2023 students must pay and are only allowed one guest, 20 years old or younger.

Students must follow all Department of Education and school policies during the event. Any person suspended before the date of prom will not be allowed to attend, and refunds will not be possible. Maui High School also advises the students to avoid renting rooms after the event for practical reasons.

Students and their guests must check in together at 5:30 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. Presenting their photo IDs and Covid-19 requirements upon arrival. Doors will close at 6:00 p.m. and will only open at 9:00 p.m. Self-Parking costs $35, and Valet-Parking around $45. Students are encouraged to arrange their transportation to avoid parking fees or carpool to the event.
