2020 has been a tough year from start to finish. Sabers need hope and some holiday cheer. For this holiday season, Sabers shared their winter wishes with us.

Ms. Yuen, 9th Grade Teacher
My 2020 Holiday Wish is... “For all of us to feel like a family even though we can’t travel and spend Christmas together.” Why? “This is my baby’s first Christmas! I want to have that wonderful sense of family.”

Vannah Cheesebrough, Sophomore
My 2020 Holiday Wish is... “To get more stylish masks. I mean if we’re gonna have to wear them all the time, at least I should have some that are cute. Like seriously.” Why? “Well, if I’m wearing a cute pastel/monotone outfit, I want a cute mask to match it.”

Camille, Junior
My 2020 Holiday Wish is… “For everyone to have fun with their family and friends. Also, to enjoy 2020 while it lasts. 2021 is zooming in.” Why? “2020 is something different compared to other years. We should focus on ending 2020 with a positive vibe.”

Adrien Magatas, Freshman
My 2020 Holiday Wish is… “A new headset with a better microphone.” Why? “My current headset is not good, and I want a better one, so I can be a better bumbling idiot just like my friends and me, lol.”

Franczen A. Bueno, Freshman
My 2020 Holiday Wish is… “that every single person who is having a hard time may soon find a better place and mindset.” Why? “Because we are currently under trying times, especially with the virus going on, it brought people to their lowest and darkest days, and I hope those people find light in this time of darkness.”

Mark Alan Kawachi, Senior
My 2020 Holiday Wish is… “To have a case of Coke Colas and have a Coke bear costume.” Why? “So I can share it with my family and friends.”

Agnes Faiva, Senior
My 2020 Holiday Wish is… “For our country to come as one and stop the violence and racism. I want everyone to be in peace and love after what has happened during this year of 2020. May you all have a wonderful holiday, Sabers.” Why? “I have seen people hurt and crying during this time. It is not fair if someone is scared to just walk out their front door just because of their skin color. We should all walk freely together in harmony. Our world shouldn’t be hating each other just because of their skin color, religion, culture, tradition, ethnic background, family, past, or if they look different. We all have a heart. That is all it matters.”

Maxine Dumont, Freshman
My 2020 Holiday Wish is… “I wish, well, it's more of a hope that I won't be alone this Christmas, and I won't feel sad.” Why? “Since I'm in foster care, I can't see any of my family. I just hope that maybe the family I have right now will be enough to get me through this tough holiday.”
T.S Eliot once said, “Sometimes things become possible if we want them bad enough.” So keep wanting, Sabers; your wishes could come true. Happy Holidays everyone!
